1. Who we are and how to contact us
WeBand is a musician community and companion app provided by Seventh Software (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the WeBand website at appweband.com, the WeBand iOS and Android apps, the member platform and our support communications.
For privacy questions or requests to access, correct, export or delete your information, contact support@seventh.dev. Please identify WeBand in your subject line. Do not send your password, identity documents or private recordings with an initial request.
2. Account and community information
When you create an account, we process your email address, authentication information, account identifier, display name, verification status and account-related timestamps through Google Firebase Authentication. Passwords are transmitted to the authentication provider over encrypted connections; WeBand does not maintain a separate plain-text password database. Authentication providers also process technical information needed to secure their services, such as network addresses and request details.
Your talent profile can contain a name, talent roles, genres, a city or region you type, biography, optional external sample link, remote-collaboration preference and visibility setting. Project briefs include the owner’s name, title, description, genre, requested role, local/remote preference, status and timestamps. Collaboration applications contain an applicant identifier, name, message, status and timestamp.
We use this information to provide accounts, show the profiles and projects you choose to share, process collaboration applications, maintain the service, prevent abuse and answer support requests. We do not use your private recordings or profile content to train an AI model.
3. Who can see what you share
Your account email is not included in your public-facing talent profile. A profile you make visible is available to signed-in WeBand members. You can change its visibility and edit your profile. Project briefs are visible to signed-in members. An application is available to its applicant and the project owner; owners can review applications to their own briefs.
Other people may copy, download, remember or retain information you share with them. Removing information from WeBand cannot remove copies someone independently made. Do not publish sensitive information about yourself or another person without permission.
4. Demo activity and selected files stay on your device
The no-account demo uses fictional sample artists and projects. Demo profile edits, saved artists, invitations, messages, activity, task feedback and sample credit choices are stored locally using app/browser storage. They are not sent to the live member database. The demo’s studio messages are not live messages to other people.
If you choose an MP3, WAV, M4A or TXT file in the demo, the app reads only the file you select. Native apps copy it into the app’s local documents area; the browser demo stores selected files in IndexedDB. These demo attachments are not uploaded to WeBand. Local storage can contain file names, lyrics and other file metadata as well as the selected file. Device or browser backup services may make their own copies under settings you control.
The current app plays audio but does not request microphone recording, camera, contacts or precise GPS access. A city or region in a profile is typed by you. Live cloud file sharing and live studio messaging are not part of the current demo.
5. Sessions, hosting and website analytics
Authentication uses local app/browser storage to keep you signed in. Signing out removes the active session from the app; removing a locally saved session is different from deleting the account and its server data.
The public home page uses Seventh Software’s cookie-free visitor analytics. It records a page-load event, country-level network region, device category, referring website hostname and a site-specific daily visitor hash. The network address and browser user-agent are processed to create that daily hash; the raw address and full user-agent are not stored in our analytics database. The hash changes each New York calendar day. This tracker does not collect member-page activity, account emails, message text or demo files. It respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control.
Per-event analytics records are pruned after successful aggregation when older than approximately 32 days; failed aggregation can delay pruning. Aggregate daily counts remain for trend reporting. Hosting and authentication providers may separately retain operational or security logs under their service settings.
6. Service providers and other disclosures
Google Firebase/Google Cloud provides authentication and the live community database. Vercel hosts the public website and blog delivery. Seventh Software operates the website analytics service and its server database. These providers process information to deliver, protect and maintain the service. We require service-provider handling to protect personal information consistently with this policy and applicable law.
The website and journal load web fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google’s font servers, which receive ordinary connection information such as your network address and request headers. The native app bundles its fonts locally.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or a valid legal request, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business reorganization subject to appropriate privacy protections. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. The current app contains no advertising SDK or cross-app advertising tracking.
Apple and Google independently process app-store downloads and information you choose to give them. If you open a portfolio, sample, social or other external link, that destination receives information under its own policies. WeBand does not control those external sites.
7. Security and international processing
We use encrypted network connections and Firebase Authentication and database access rules to restrict access to member data. Local data also depends on your device and browser protections. We do not promise end-to-end encryption or absolute security. Keep your device protected and do not share account credentials.
Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate. The live community database is configured in the United States. Applicable transfer safeguards and mandatory local privacy rights continue to apply; you can contact us about international processing or the safeguards relevant to your request.
8. Retention and deletion
Account, profile, project and application information is kept while needed to provide the account and community service, unless you request deletion or a legitimate legal, security or dispute-related reason requires limited retention. Support correspondence is retained only as needed to resolve the request and meet those obligations.
You can request deletion of your WeBand account and associated profile, owned project briefs and collaboration application data. This is a request for permanent deletion, not account freezing. We may need to verify that you control the account. We explain any limited data that must be retained and the reason, and process requests within applicable legal time limits. Operational backups may expire on the provider’s backup cycle rather than disappear immediately.
The current release uses a support-assisted deletion request. Signing out, hiding a profile or uninstalling the app does not delete cloud account data. The deletion-request page explains the current request method.
Use “Reset this demo” in the demo profile to clear demo activity and attached files. You can also remove app/browser storage. Copies in device backups, exported files or other services are controlled separately by you.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
You can edit profile information, change profile visibility, choose whether to provide an optional sample link or location, avoid optional file selection, sign out and reset local demo activity.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a portable copy of your data, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, and complain to your privacy regulator. We use information to deliver the service you request, protect the service and users, meet legal obligations, and obtain consent where required. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing. We do not use automated decision-making to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Contact us using the address above to exercise rights. We use proportionate verification and do not require unnecessary sensitive documents. Mandatory privacy rights apply regardless of anything in our User Agreement.
10. Age limits and policy updates
The WeBand member community is intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect community account information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address the account and associated data.
We update this policy when our information practices change. The effective date appears above. Material changes will be communicated through the service or another appropriate notice before they apply where required. New features that collect additional information require updated disclosures and any necessary permissions.
